Ricky “Rick” Kraning, 69, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Lake Region Healthcare.

Rick was born on February 27, 1955 in Ellendale, ND, the son of John and Irene (Haro) Kraning. He spent his early years in LaMoure, ND, where he made many lifelong friends. The family moved to Fergus Falls in 1967, where Rick graduated from high school. After high school, Rick attended NDSU.

He joined the family jewelry business and was active in the business until his death. 

He enjoyed horseback riding, attending rodeos and auto races, snowmobiling and was the president of the Otter Country Trail Association. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his many close friends.

 Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his brother, Calvin (Barb) Kraning of Battle Lake; niece, Jaclyn (Tim) Scott of Loveland, CO; nephew, Kyle Kraning of West Fargo and great-nephews, John and Thomas Scott of Loveland, CO. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

 A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
