Olson Funeral & CremationCandace "Candy" Ellen Bugbee, 77, of Fergus Falls, died peacefully Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Minnesota Veteran's Home in Fergus Falls.
Candace Ellen Aune was born October 1, 1948, to Kenneth "Ken" and Olga (Shelstad) Aune of Underwood. She went to country school and graduated from Underwood High School, where she fell in love with John Bugbee. The two were married June 8, 1968. They lived near Underwood, MN and later moved to the family farm, "Triple B" in Friberg Township. Candy and John had three children, Darin, Joy, and Wade.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching all of her grandkid's activities, and watching them grow up. She enjoyed trips for Quilts of Valor, volunteering in the community, and traveling with her friends. She had many special friends and spent much time with them. She loved the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, she tried to never miss a game. Those who knew her, knew that the channel could get switched easily. She also loved going to the casinos.
Over the years, she worked at Kordel Furniture and was the Deputy Auditor and Land Specialist for the Otter Tail County. She retired from the Otter Tail County Auditor's Office.
The last nine months she enjoyed living at the Minnesota Veteran's Home. She was surrounded by more friends that became family. She loved going to Sunday night concerts, music, art, visits from Graci, and Bingo. Some days she would joke that she was too busy.
Candy is survived by her children, Darin Bugbee and Joy (Scott) Finkelson; grandchildren, John, Grace, and AnnaClaire Bugbee and Hannah (Jaixen) Silvernail and Connor Finkelson and Anthony Grienke; brothers, Ken (Linda) Aune and Jerry (Linda) Aune, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John; her son, Wade; parents, Ken and Olga Aune; grandparents, Lars and Christine Aune and Peter and Ellen Shelstad.
A special Thank You for the support, love, and prayers this last week. Thank you to all of mom's friends/family and the Fergus Falls Veteran's Home.
