Barbara Kay Kruse
Barbara Kay Kruse (Ellis) passed to eternal life on June 5, 2023, after a long illness at 86.
She was born to Fred and Ellen Ellis on February 1, 1937, in Shelbyville, Indiana. She was the youngest of four children.
On September 13,1958 she married the love of her life, Kurt Kruse in Indianapolis, Indiana. They were married for over 55 years.
They had two daughters, Kristi and Karla.
In 1966, Kurt received a job promotion, the family moved to Littleton, Colorado.
Kurt and Barbara spent 28 years in Colorado. Barbara was active in Swedish Hospital Auxiliary.
In 1994, they moved to Albuquerque, to be close to their three grandchildren. Barbara retired from Eye Associates in 1999. Kurt and Barbara enjoyed traveling extensively after retirement. Kurt passed away in 2014.
In 2022, Barbara moved to Flower Mound, TX to be close to her daughter, Kristi.
She was predeceased by her parents, her siblings, husband Kurt, her nephew, Steve Carroll and dear friend Janice Mertens.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Kristi (Brian) Thomson and Karla Kruse. Grandchildren, Taylor (Ryan) Enos, Chase (Kacy) Thomson and Logan (Katy) Thomson. Eight great grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.
Memorial Service is Saturday, September 16 at 10am, at Sandia Presbyterian Church. 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sandia Presbyterian Deacon Fund at the above address.
