Barbara Ann (Kundl) Wood, 71, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2025, in Sachse, Texas. She was born on January 3, 1954, in Perth, Scotland, and moved with her family to the United States at the age of two. Barbara grew up in Dallas, Texas, where she graduated from Bryan Adams High School with the Class of 1972.
Barbara worked throughout her life in retail and then at the credit union before retiring. She approached every role with a tireless work ethic, a friendly smile, and an ability to make customers feel like longtime friends.
Family was the center of Barbara’s world, and her greatest joy in life was being a devoted mother and “Nana.” She loved attending her grandchildren’s events and cheering them on in everything they did. She never missed a birthday — she would call each person and sing “Happy Birthday” with the same excitement every single year.
Barbara loved cooking and baking; especially making cookies for the kids to decorate during holidays and special occasions. She had a remarkable way of remembering the small things — favorite treats, little preferences, or the tiniest hints of what someone loved — and surprising them with thoughtful gifts or gestures that made them feel seen and special.
She also enjoyed gardening and caring for her many plants, traveling to sunny places and the beach, and showering love on her dogs over the years. But above all, she cherished every moment spent with her family.
She touched countless lives with her joyful spirit, generous heart, and the love she poured into the world. Her memory will continue to be a source of strength and comfort to all who were blessed to know her.
Barbara is survived by her former husband Ron Wood whom she raised a loving family with. Children Jennifer Moore, Kevin Wood and wife Lisa, Daniel Wood and wife Monica; grandchildren Samantha and Jessica Moore, Ethan, Reagan and Evelyn Wood, Clark and Brissa Wood; siblings Monica Kundl and husband Dean Adams and Joseph Kundl and wife Joelanda. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Ursula Kundl.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
