OTTOVILLE -- Barbara E. Landin, 78, of Ottoville, passed away at 1:52 a.m. on March 9, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 20, 1947 to the late Ernest and Betty Oleta (Dunn) Hunter. On April 1, 1967, she married Terry Landin, he survives in Ottoville.
Barbara is also survived by her four children: Bev (Jim) Schweller, Terri Ann (Jim) Bendele, Michelle (Dwight) Heitmeyer, and Darren (Donna) Landin; 9 grandchildren: Amber (Austin) Miller, Kristin (Kyle) Martin, Rachelle (Austin) Selhorst, Kylee (Logan) Konst, Andrea (Brian) Wurst, Alexandria (Alex) Redmon, Lindsay (Dustin Trenkamp) Schweller, Ryan Bendele, and Trentyn (Cierra Trammell) Zachrich; and 8 great-grandchildren, with 1 on the way; a brother, Lynn Lukehart; and sisters: Betty Glynne Schaffner, Valli Finney, and Robin Straker.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Gierhart; and a brother, Norman Lukehart.
Barbara will always be remembered for being an avid Big Green fan, never missing her grandchildren's sporting events. She helped at Immaculate Conception Church Fair for many years making the onions and bacon for the green beans. Barbara loved all things sparkly, playing bingo, and Fridays getting her hair and nails done with the Gentry girls. She was a person that was always there for others and deeply cared for people, and was honored to be the 1965 Elida High School homecoming queen. She was also very close with her aunts, uncles, and cousins in Oklahoma.
Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with the Very Reverend George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday with a scripture service beginning at 1:45 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Homecare and Hospice. Condolences may be expressed at www.lovefuneralhome.com.
