Barbara Ann Lane, lovingly known to family and friends as “Granny Bob,” age 81, of Walland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025. She was born on May 11, 1944, in Dandridge, Tennessee.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly and found happiness in every moment spent with them.
She worked for the University of Tennessee, where she was a valued and respected employee. Her dedication and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, George Lane (March 2005); her son, Jonathan Tracy Lane (December 1964); and her daughters, Terri Lane (September 2019) and Vicki Dunn (December 2024).
She is survived by her daughter Teresa Taylor; grandchildren Michael (Jeniffer) Taylor, James (Melissa) Lane, Ronald (Makashia) Taylor, Tracy Taylor, Jonathan (Brooke) Taylor, and Danielle Dunn; and great-grandchildren Dylan Taylor, Janessa McCants, Conner Stephenson, Xavier McCants, William Stephenson, Miles McCants, Ellie Lane, Mya Lane, Araya Taylor, and Laney Taylor.
Barbara’s love, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Darin Lane officiating.
