Barbara Jean Lange, 95, of Moxee, WA, passed away on December 27, 2025 at Noble
Adult Family Home in Vancouver, WA.
Born on July 3, 1930 in Oakland, California to LeRoy & Olive Luella Atkins. Barbara
graduated from Yakima High School and later entered the Navy as a Dentalman. She
was honorably discharged in 1957.
Barbara married James (Jim) Lange in December 1956 and they settled in Fox Lake, IL
for many years. They decided to move back to the Yakima valley in 1965.
Barbara assisted her husband Jim with running the jewelry store at Payless Drugs Store
until 1981. Barbara’s stepfather, Edgar Erickson and her mother operated a fruit
orchard in Parker WA and with Edgar’s passing, Jim and Barbara became orchardists
for many years.
Barbara’s husband Jim passed away in January 2012. She continued being involved
with Holy Rosary Church and in her TOPS group. She spent special times with family
and friends.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Mary (Gerald-Jerry) Sauer, granddaughter,
Amanda (Hunter) Burda. She is preceded in death by her parents-father LeRoy Atkins,
stepfather Edgar Erickson, mother Olive Luella Erickson.
Celebration of Life will be held in early spring 2026.
