Barbara Latham Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Richards Funeral Home - Cairo on Nov. 8, 2024.
On the evening of November 7th 2024, Barbara Hope Latham passed away peacefully in her daughter's arms after a brief battle with brain cancer. Barbara was born on March 28th 1952 in Catskill NY to the late Joseph and Betty Lowe.
Barbara spent most of her younger years in the Coxsackie-Athens area with her siblings the late Meryl Reed, the late Joseph Lowe, Dennis Lowe, Michael Lowe and Cheryl Robinson. Barbara graduated from Coxsackie-Athens High School and shortly after married her first husband, the late Frank Marchesani of Catskill NY. Together they share four sons, Frankie, Dennis, Aaron and Cory. They spent most over their time together in the Kingston area. For many years Barbara worked as a department manager at Walgreens in the Kingston Plaza. Later in life Barbara married the love of her life, Thomas Latham of Huntington NY. Together they share a daughter, Jillian Latham. They spent the remainder of their time together in Saugerties NY before Thomas sadly passed away in December of 1996.
Barbara enjoyed taking her children and grandchildren on adventures, treasure hunts, to the dirt track races, chasing UFO's, making crafts, going on random trips, fishing, making spells, story telling and camping to name a few. Barbara spent over 25 years at her most favorite place to be, Whip-O-Will Campground in Purling NY where she later met her partner in life the late Robert (Bob) Blacharski. She was often found sitting by the camp fire or riding around on the golf cart with Bob. Some of Barbara's most cherished memories are with her family and friends at camp. Robert and Barbara spent their summers at Whip-O-Will and their winters in Florida for several years.
Barbara was an inspiration. From drag racing on back roads in high school to being the best mother and grandmother she could be. She was never afraid to get her hands dirty or handle things on her own. Her infectious laugh could lift a room and her smile was as beautiful as the night sky. She will continue to live on in the memories we all share.
Barbara leaves behind her children and grandchildren, Frank Marchesani and his wife Diane, Dennis Marchesani and his children Levi, Seth and Olivia, Aaron Marchesani and his wife Rebecca as well as their children, Izabella, Maximus, Catelaya, Milena and Luca, Cory Marchesani and his daughter Mackenzie and Jillian Latham. Her brothers Michael Lowe and Dennis Lowe and her sister Cheryl Robinson. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins as well as many life long friends.
