George Muldoon, 79, a decorated Vietnam veteran and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. A Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and a mainstay of the local riding community, George was known as much for his 59-year marriage to his wife, Charlene, as he was for his legendary rides and his deep love for the high-octane world of NASCAR and motocross.

A man of discipline and grit, George served his country with honor as an Ordnance Technician in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he brought that same dedication to his civilian career, working as a lineman for Verizon for 35 years. He was the kind of man who wasn't afraid of hard work or high places, earning the respect of his colleagues and community alike.

George's true joy was found in motion. A lifelong enthusiast of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, he was a prominent figure in his local club, frequently acting as a road captain and leading group rides across the countryside. His passion for speed didn't stop at two wheels; he was a devoted NASCAR fan who made the annual pilgrimage to the Daytona 500 every year. Whether he was navigating the trails on a snowmobile in the winter, cheering at motocross races, or deep-sea fishing in the warm waters of Florida, George embraced every season of life with an adventurous spirit.

Above all his hobbies, George was a pillar for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Charlene Muldoon. He was the proud father of Shannon Andersen of North River, NY, and Sean Muldoon of Stratford, CT. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and character for his cherished grandchildren, Caitlin and Erik. George was predeceased by his brother, John.

Family and friends are invited to honor George's life on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Richards Funeral Home, located at 29 Bross Street, Cairo, NY 12413.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in George's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, continuing his legacy of support for his fellow veterans.
