Barbara Laursen Obituary
Barbara graduated from Akron High School in 1958 and pursued further education at Great Lakes College. She was deeply active in 4-H as a youth and later committed herself to church work and community volunteerism. Her spirit of generosity touched many lives.
The couple lived in several cities-including Ann Arbor, Pittsburgh and Lima-before settling in Midland, Michigan for 40 years where they raised five children: Mark (Julie), Marcia (Pete), Bradley (Marissa), Brenda (Steve Winger), and Jay (Mia). Barbara's legacy continues through eight grandchildren-Alex, Jamie, Tesha, Tyler, Zoe, Zachary, Logan and Jonas- and three great grandchildren: Valentina, Brantley and Elowen.
After Larry's retirement, the couple traveled extensively, visiting loved ones and nearly 50 National Parks. In 2012, they made their final home in Surprise, Arizona.
Barbara will be remembered for her grace, faith and steadfast love. Her life was a quiet beacon, guiding those around her with wisdom, kindness and unwavering strength.

Larry and family,
We are sorry to hear of Barbara's passing. We shared the same row with you both at Grace Community Church on Sundays, and it was always fun to visit with you. We will miss Barbara's smile, but comforted to know she is with our Lord. Our deepest sympathies and may God bless you and your family.

We are thankful for the generosity in life and spirit expressed by both Larry and Barb. As community neighbors and as friends within the church family, they brought to light their attributes of humility and kindness. We are grateful for their legacy in church and community. I express my prayers in comfort and with thanksgiving. She is the "godly woman for whom we rise and give our praise."
