On July 16, 2024, our hearts grew heavy as we said goodbye to a truly remarkable soul. Barbara Jean Leidner, aged 76, peacefully passed away at Anne Arundel Medical Center, leaving behind memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. Barbara born in Bronx, New York, a place where the foundation of her kind and compassionate nature was laid by her late parents, Alberta and Frank Stevens. Her journey led her through Brooklyn Park High School and into the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab before she found her calling as a dedicated real estate agent. Beyond her professional life, Barbara found solace in the art of crafting and the joy of classic sit-coms.
In the embrace of cherished memories, Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Richard D. Leidner, Jr., who stood by her side through every chapter of their shared life. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Paige Rylee Murphy and Ryan Michael Allen; a beloved brother, Frank Stevens; a dear son-in-law, Patrick Murphy; and special friends Ray Stevenson, Judy Qualls, and Chris and Dave Standon, as well as all her supportive neighbors. In addition to her immediate family, Barbara's legacy lives on in the hearts of many extended family members and friends.
The loss of is softened by the knowledge that she is reunited with those who went before her – her loving daughters, Kimberly Ann Brocato Murphy and Collen Lynn Brocato Allen; her son-in-law, John Allen; and her brother, Ronald Stevens.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Barbara's memory will take place at 4 PM on Wednesday, July 24, at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services in Glen Burnie. Following the service, friends and family are invited to join in visitation from 5-7 PM. As Barbara's journey comes to its peaceful close with a private interment, let us find comfort in each other's presence. In tribute to Barbara's life well-lived, the family kindly requests that donations in her name be made to your favorite charity.
