Barbara Lowry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fisher Funeral Home - Denison on Jan. 27, 2026.
Barbara Janice Lowry headed home to see her Jesus on January 25, 2026, at the age of 87.

She was born on August 8, 1938, in Southern Oklahoma. On June 28, 1957, Barbara married the love of her life Troy Lee Lowry in Denison, Texas. Their marriage was a beautiful example of devotion, faith, and commitment and together they built a family grounded in love.

Barbara retired from Bells ISD where she worked as a cafeteria employee. She truly loved her job and cherished the children she served each day, treating every one of them as her own. Her kindness, warm smile, and caring heart left a lasting impression on countless students and friends.

Above all else, Barbara loved God. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she never hesitated to tell anyone who would listen about her Jesus. She loved people deeply and never met a stranger. Her welcoming spirit made everyone feel like family.

Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy, and her influence will be felt for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vachel and Jessie Jolly of Denison, Texas; her beloved husband of 30 years, Troy Lowry; sister, Lucy Trujillo; and brother, Steve Jolly.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Sherry and husband Danny Walsh of Ector, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda Wright and husband Donnie, Amber Trainor and husband Taylor; great-grandchildren, Korey Smith and wife Myranda, Kaylee Lewis and husband Clayton, Hayden Trainor and wife Taylor, Karah Sanders and husband Sam, Holden Trainor, and Hailey Trainor; her brother, Lynn Jolly; and sister, Cathy Aday and husband John.

Barbara Janice Lowry will be remembered for her unwavering faith in Christ, her servant's heart and the love she freely gave to all who knew her.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Taylor Trainor, Clayton Lewis, Donnie Wright, Chris Aday, Korey Smith, Hayden Trainor, Sam Sanders, and Holden Trainor.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel, with Rusty Shreeves, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Denison, TX. The family will receive friends one hour prior of service.
