Barbara Ellen Luikart

I worked with Barb many years ago at the Homewood Suites in Worthington. From the first time I met her, I knew she was an amazing person. She not only was my manager, but she became a great mentor and friend. I knew I could confide in Barb and trust her with anything. She was so intelligent and knowledgeable about the hotel industry and taught me everything I needed to know when I was promoted. I couldn´t have done it without her.
Barb was so proud of her family and it showed every day. She always had a funny story to tell about her children or husband. They almost felt like extended family to me!
After I left Columbus, sadly I didn´t keep in touch as I should have. But several years later, I made a point to visit Barb when she was managing the Holiday Inn. It was as if we had never lost touch. She was all smiles and still telling stories of her family! It felt like I was home again! That´s the kind of person Barb was. She always saw the good in people and was kind to everyone. I will always cherish the memories I have from working with her for those years.
It breaks my heart to be typing this message, but I know Barb is looking down and smiling on her family. The world has lost a great friend, mother, grandmother and wife, but her memory will always be remembered fondly by those who were lucky enough to know Barb. Rest easy, my friend!
