Barbara Lusk

Our dear Mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Barbara Jeanne Lusk passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, in Lindon, Utah at the age of 83.

Barbara was born on September 6, 1942, in Mexico City, Mexico, to Charles & Gertrude Overton. She grew up in a tiny mining colony in Mexico called La Prieta. She was fluent in both Spanish and English. As the youngest of 2 children, she shared a close bond with her sister Valerie. They agreed to run away together as little girls and took a box of rice crispies. They thought that was all they needed to survive. haha

Barbara married John Michael Redd in August of 1962 in El Paso, Texas. They made their home there and they had their 2 children, Steve & Dean Redd in the following 3 years and were divorced in 1968. On May 13, 1983, she married John Clyde Lusk in the Arizona LDS Temple. They spent a wonderful 33 years together happily married until Clyde passed away on February 12, 2016.

Barbara spent her life devoted to her God that she loved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a faithful member until the day she died. Barbara was extremely witty and sharp as a tack until the very end. Our beloved mother/grandmother's favorite things were sports, dancing, grandkids, and dogs. She was an administrative secretary and could type 112 wpm with no mistakes.... she was fast. She was well loved in the workplace and never minded correcting anyone about what the true numbers were. This 5'2" dynamo taught her two boys about sports and how to throw a baseball and football. Her passion teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the LA Dodgers, and of course the BYU Cougars.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband John Clyde Lusk 2/12/2016, and her son Steven Blake Redd 12/17/2025.

She is survived by her son Michael Dean Redd, as well as daughter in laws and grandkids. We are confident that she was greeted and embraced by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her beloved family, and her friends in heaven.

Celebration of life and graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 9:00 am at Pony Express Memorial Cemetery, Eagle Mountain, Utah.
