Barbara A. Mattox, 86, of Mound Valley, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. She was born on February 18, 1939, in Oswego, Kansas.

On March 7, 1961, Barbara married the love of her life, Bob Mattox, in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they built a beautiful life and raised eight children.

Barbara was known for her love of country music, God, and dancing. She never missed a chance to shine – always wearing her signature bling and sharing her bright, joyful spirit with everyone she met. She took great pride in caring for her home and especially loved being outdoors, mowing her yard and keeping it picture-perfect.

Her warmth, sparkle and faith-filled love of life will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by four children and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her love and light in their hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Mattox and four of their children.

The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Western Way Cowboy Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., until the service begins. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Western Way Cowboy Church. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
