Barbara McAdam Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 6, 2026.
Barbara McAdam, 81, born on March 31, 1944, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, in Warner Robins, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of Charles and Delores Landells and the cherished wife of (Ret.) U.S. Air Force Dennis McAdam, whom she preceded in death in 2023.

Throughout her life, Barbara exemplified kindness and warmth, touching the lives of everyone she met. She dedicated many years of service to her community through her career in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base, as well as working in various offices throughout Warner Robins, where she excelled in accounting. Her dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic were admired by all who knew her.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Geraldine Bub (86); her son, John Cooper, and daughter-in-law, Suzanne Cooper, of Warner Robins; and her step-son, Sean McAdam. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Katie Toliver, daughter of her late daughter Sheri Cooper, and Katie's sons, Thomas and James, whom Barbara cherished deeply. In addition, she is survived by John's children, Whitney Hensley, John (Ashley) Cooper, and Christian Cooper.

Barbara was a loving aunt to her nephew, Michael Landells, and her niece, Sandy Manifold. She took great joy in her family, which includes four grandchildren, two step-children, nine great-grandchildren, and many cherished extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis McAdam; her daughter, Sheri Cooper; and her two brothers. Barbara's home reflected her loving heart and was often filled with warmth and companionship, especially shared with her beloved dog, Paisley, and her cat, Socks.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Barbara's life during visitation at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home on January 12, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Parkway Memorial Gardens on January 13, 2026.

Barbara's gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and deep love for her family will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
