Barbara Jean McKnight , aged 93, passed away on November 9, 2024, in Kaufman, Texas. Born on April 7, 1931, Barbara was known throughout her life for her kind, loving, caring, and faithful nature.
Barbara dedicated many years to her career, skillfully balancing roles as a seamstress and in accounting, where her meticulous attention to detail and creativity were greatly valued. Beyond her professional life, she was an avid traveler, enjoyed shopping, and had a profound love for food. Her affection for animals was evident in her adoration of dogs and cats, which brought much joy and companionship over the years.
Barbara was the beloved matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her daughters Brenda Horton and Marsha Logan, and son-in-law Steve Logan. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Steve Horton and his wife Lori, Lisa Horton, John Downey, and Donovan Parker, as well as her great-granddaughter Shelbie Horton, alongside many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Henry P. McKnight.
A viewing will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas, at 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow the same day at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas, at 12:00 pm.
Barbara's life was a testament to her enduring kindness and care, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
