Donald Eugene Linebaugh of Bedford, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, at the age of 82 from natural causes. He will always be remembered as a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him.
Don was born on April 9, 1943, in Stella, Missouri. He grew up in Macksville, Kansas, alongside his parents, Eileen and Gene, and his brother, Michael. Don had two daughters, Kim Linebaugh and Angela Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Linebaugh; his daughter, Kim Linebaugh; his brother, Michael Linebaugh, and sister in law, Evelyn Linebaugh; his sister in law, Diana Garza; and several grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Don accepted Christ on April 8, 1977, in his home in Arlington, Texas. He was baptized the next day—his birthday—on April 9, 1977.
In May 2005, Don was diagnosed with AML leukemia at the age of 62. He received a bone marrow transplant in 2007 and lived as a testimony to God’s miraculous healing. The words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7–8 reflect Don’s life and faith: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith…” Don has now finished his earthly race with perseverance, and he is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Missions fund at Friendship Baptist Church in Hurst, TX.
