Barbara McNatt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perry Funeral Home - Newark on Jan. 14, 2025.
To know Barbara Jean McNatt was to love her. Her heart of gold touched everyone she met, and her love embraced all those around her. A natural giver, Totsie was known for her honesty-whatever was on her mind, she would speak. She was selfless, always willing to help anyone in need. Barbara loved her family beyond measure and went above and beyond to ensure their happiness.
Born on July 24, 1950, in Summit, NJ, Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late Etheleen and Roscoe Anthony. She was one of 14 children and attended Charleston Street Elementary School and South Side High School. She later pursued further education at the East Orange School of Paralegal & Secretarial Studies, leading to a career at Western House Electric.
Barbara loved life and enjoyed shopping, dancing, singing, and playing cards. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her family. Although she did not have biological children, she shared a deep bond with her great-niece, Courtney Anthony, who was like a daughter to her. She also cherished a special bond with her great-niece, Abrea Griffin, and her great nephew, Dolan Rahn, and her niece, Pamela Riley, with whom she enjoyed studying the Bible where she learned many of God's wonderful promises including the resurrection hope that she believed would all come true because of her favorite Scripture at Titus 1:2..."that God does not lie".
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Etheleen and Roscoe Anthony, as well as her siblings, Lois Anthony Riley, Roscoe Anthony Jr., Mary Anthony Rahn, Carolyn (Callie) Anthony Hinton, Gail Anthony, William (Billy) Anthony, Gwendolyn (Wendy) Anthony, and Richard Anthony.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her three loving sisters, Geraldine (Gerry), Valerie, and Denise (Neicey) Anthony; her devoted brother, Reginald (Reggie) Anthony; and her special friend, Jessie "Jerome" Bradshaw. Barbara also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who will forever remember her warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit.
