Barbara Jean McSpadden, age 93 of Dandridge, went to be with her Lord on September 8, 2025. She was a member of Grant’s Chapel; and attended Chestnut Grove and Oakland Community Churches. She worked for many years at the Dandridge Library.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Shorty” McSpadden; daughters, Patsy Davis & Kathy Holt; granddaughter, Melissa Henderson Widmann; great-great grandchildren, Armonie, Amaury, & Armon; sisters, Nancy Renfroe, Mary Jane Paddock, & Betty Ray; brothers, James “Jim” Derreberry & David Derreberry; and sons-in-law, Fred Henderson, Johnny Davis, William Jack Gray, & James Holt.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Gray; grandchildren, William “Bill” (Lovette) Gray of South Carolina, Rob (Beth) Gray of Karns, Frankie (Lori) Holt of Churchill, and Sammy Holt of Morristown; great-grandchildren, Shaniqua (Monti) Smith, Akill (Legend) Davis, Zion Bright of South Carolina, Josh(Jennie) Foster, Brittany (Mike) Hayes of Illinois, Peyton & Cooper Gray of Karns, Amanda (Josh) West of Dandridge, Anthony & Megan Widmann of Morristown, Spencer Holt; fourteen great-great grandchildren, and favorite niece, Nina (Sandy) Brimer.

Rev. Darrell Chambers & Pastor Mike Jones will officiate the funeral service, which will be held at 6PM, Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. Visitation will be held from 4PM to 6PM prior to the service. A graveside service will take place at 11AM Friday, September 12, 2025 at Shady Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Oakland Community Church. (158 West Dumplin Valley Road – Jefferson City, TN 37760)
