Barbara Miele Obituary
Barbara Miele, 91, a Lake Hiawatha resident for over 60 years, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026.
Barbara was born in Quebec Canada on December 18, 1934 to parents James and Marguerite MacKenzie.
She spent most of her young life living in New York where she met the love of her life and future husband Michael R. Miele while they were both working at Cheerful Card Company in White Plains. They were married on September 26, 1954 and shortly after moved to New Jersey.
Barbara dedicated her life to her family. The love she had for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unwavering, unconditional and strong. She was kind, loving, understanding and accepting of anyone who crossed her path. She saw the good in every soul. She created a legacy that is unmatched and will live on for generations to come.
Barbara is survived by her children: Christopher & Virginia Miele, James & Deborah Miele, Kevin Miele Sr. & Denise DiNapoli, Jonathan Sr. & Brenda Miele, Aimee & Arthur Whelan. She is also survived by grandchildren: Kevin Jr. & Angel Miele, Anthony & Danielle Miele, Michael Miele, Jonathan Jr. & Courtney Miele, Danielle Miele, Katelyn & Mike Van Aman, Charles Miele, Nicole Miele & Massimo Lopes, Christopher Hagerman, MacKenzie & Bill Taylor, Isabelle Whelan, August Whelan as well as Great-Grandchildren Taylor, Spencer, Raechel, Meadow, Angelo, Gianni, Scarlett, Audrey, Lucas, Emma, Billy & Cody.
She is predeceased by her husband Michael R. Miele, son Michael J. Miele, daughter Marguerite A. Miele, daughter Barbara J. Miele, and grandson Justin P. Hagerman.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday April, 1, 2026 from 5pm-8pm and services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday April, 2, 2026 at Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Rd. Parsippany. Internment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
