Barbara J. Mitchell, age 78, of Southside, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, November 08, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at Collier-Butler Chapel.
Rev. Joey Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at Williams-Southside Memorial Park.
Collier-Butler Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
Barbara was an avid gardener, excellent cook, baker, and consumer of books. She loved to travel and had a special place in her heart for England, where she had many friends and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Mitchell; parents, Odis and Vaulene (Freeman) Williams.
Barbara is survived by her children, Terri (David) Zammit, Sheila Mitchell, Buddy (Terri) Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, and Danny (Vallie) Mitchell; 12 grandchildren, Wayne (FeFe Dobson) Atha, Jazmen Garner, Carmen (Neal) Mitchell, Christine Zammit, Julia (Tyler) Butt, Jordan (Blake) Lipscomb, Austin Mitchell, Cole Mitchell, Hunter Mitchell, Brianna Mitchell, Nick Petta and Natalie Petta; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews; brothers, Donnie (Nita) Williams and Russell (Kathi) Williams;
sister-in-law, Teresa (Mario) Alvarez.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Atha, Cole Mitchell, Austin Mitchell, Hunter Mitchell, Tariq Atha,
Phoenix Atha, Neal Mitchell, and Blake Lipscomb.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Southside EMT's, Firefighters and Police Department, Ladies of the North Glencoe Baptist Church, neighbors and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until
11:00 a.m. prior to the service the funeral home.
