Mrs. Barbara Ann Redmond Montgomery, age 83, of the Patterson Community of Rutherford County, died Monday, November 18, 2024 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Mrs. Montgomery was born in Nashville, Tennessee and was a daughter of the late Albert and Faye Marable Redmond. She was a secretary for many years with the Nashville Tennessean and later retired as a secretary for International Shoe Machine Company. She was of the Methodist faith.
Barbara had a love of all animals, especially her dogs and horses. She was a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders Association and had raised two World Champion Walking Horses.
Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gerald Montgomery, Patterson Community; brother-in-law, Robert Montgomery, Massachusetts; niece, Loren Montgomery; great niece, Mackinzie Waitt; Two special cousins Betty Wiley and Mary Jo Bryant.
Family members will receive friends on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 10:00 am until 1:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. A Celebration of Barbara’s life will follow at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Guinn officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
The family of Mrs. Montgomery would like to give a special thanks to NHC Murfreesboro 2nd Floor staff for the care and love they showed to Mrs. Barbara. You were a beacon and shining light to her and Mr. Montgomery.
Family members have requested that anyone who will be attending the visitation or services to please wear any Micky Mouse attire that you might have in memory of Barbara.
