We lost an extraordinary, beautiful person when Barbara Morgan passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 in her beloved home in Egg Harbor. Her partner and wife of 35 years, Deanna D'Abbraccio, and longtime, college friend, Jean Ellen Fishbeck, were at her side.
Barb was born and raised in Wauwatosa and graduated from Wauwatosa East High School in 1962. She earned her undergraduate and masters degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Later she earned her Ph.D in higher education administration and organizational behavior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She worked in student services at UW-Whitewater, UW-Madison, and UW-Milwaukee. She retired as Associate Director of Enrollment Services at UW-Milwaukee in 2004.
She had a wonderful sense of humor, a beautiful smile, and facial expression that needed no words. Barb loved nature, photography, singing, being outdoors, running, biking, camping, and swimming. Her greatest loves were helping people, volunteering, and laughing with family and her many friends. She volunteered at The Ridges Sanctuary, the Door County Land Trust, and traveled domestically and internationally building homes for Habitat for Humanity.
Barbara was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marion and Oscar Erion; parents, Grace and Lyman Morgan, brother, David Morgan.
She will be missed by her best friend and partner, Deanna D'Abbraccio, sister, Nancy Morgan, brother, John (Sue) Morgan, and sister-in-law, Heidi Morgan. She loved making her nieces and nephews laugh: Katie (Jim) Sparrow, Sarah (Matt) Beecham, Bret (Ann) Larget, Chad (Miriam) Larget, Reid (Dani) Larget, John (Becky) Morgan, Dan (Alyssa) Morgan, Luke (Jessica) Morgan, David Morgan, Jake (Liz) Morgan, and Zachary Morgan. Her playfulness will be missed by her 23 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends.
