Barbara Ann Nichols Dupree

Mrs. Barbara Ann Nichols Dupree, 77 of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday November 14, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born on November 18, 1947, in Burke County to the late Herbert David Nichols and Jackinette Mauldin Nichols Deaton. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all that knew her. Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Tony Dupree, Donnie Dupree, and Jason Dupree; five grandchildren, Cody Bowman, TJ Dupree, Benjamin Dupree, Ashley Lawson, DJ Dupree, and Matthew Dupree; two sisters, Rebecca and David Surratt, and Cathy Dalton; and several other family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dupree was preceded in death by her husband, James Gary Dupree; her grandparents, Harrison and Faye Nichols and Ellis and Veola Mauldin; and a stepbrother, Mike Bell. Funeral services will be held at Believers Baptist Church on Wednesday November 19, 2025, at 2:00pm with Pastor Dwayne Sands and Pastor Brian Chilton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday November 19, 2025, from 1:00 – 2:00pm. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family
