Barbara Ann Parks Nicks, 83 of Franklin passed away May 23, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband James Allen Nicks Jr. She is survived by son Chris Brannigan (Jewell) of Titusville Florida. Born in Pennsylvania, she proudly served as a Sheriff's Deputy and Dispatcher and served her community for many years. She was a loving mother and wife who supported her husband and family. She enjoyed crafting and working with ceramics and enjoyed her time on the road on between Florida and North Carolina. She truly loved riding on a motorcycle with her husband and spending her time, living in the mountains of western NC. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be make to Appalachian Animal Resue Shelter or to the Macon County Animal Services.
The family ask that you bring your fondest memories and have lunch with them to honor the life of Barbara and Jack, 12:00pm Saturday June 4th at the 4L Farm and Market 61 S. Patton Ave. Franklin, NC.

My deepest condolences. I worked with Barbara at the Hillsborough county Sheriffs office. We were both at that time deputies in Patrol. Barb was a great deputy and friend. The last time I saw her was at the Pisgah Inn on the Blueridge parkway. She and Jimmy had ridden their motorcycle up there. Barb was also a neighbor in Tampa at one time living just down the street on E Lambright St. I have many great memories working with her. She was a great backup on a call. So sad
