Mr. John Phillip Cook, 86, passed way Saturday, February 7, 2026.
Mr. Cook was born January 29, 1940, in Macon Co. NC to the late Lon H. Cook and Rachel Ammons Cook.
Mr. Cook worked as a meat cutter for Winn Dixie for 21 years and CR Industries for 17 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korean Conflict. He loved vintage Chevrolet trucks, collecting and shopping for antiques, but most of all he loved to work and spend time with his family. He was a member of the Prentiss Church of God where he served in many areas of the church as he was able.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Susie Passmore Cook; a son, Keith P. Cook (Crystal); siblings, Violet Pannell, Betty Douglas, Sharon Cook, Eugene Cook, Richard Cook, and Otis Cook; six grandchildren, Kara Carnes, Logan Redding, Brooklyn Cook, Tyler Cook, Miranda Cook, and Mekenzie Cook; two great-grandchildren, Ledger Redding and Kade Jackson, and a great grandson due in April.
In addition to his parents Mr. Cook was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Cook in 2021; siblings, Jessie Lee Sprinkle, Pearl Cook, Ellen Landing, and James Cook.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 15, 2026, in the Grant Chapel with the Rev. Don Moffitt officiating. Burial will follow at Tellico Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
