Barbara Diann Nix

Barbara Diann Nix, age 88, passed away on February 16, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Barbara had a deep love for flowers and gardening. She loved cornbread and her favorite meal was Mexican food. But above all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her faith was an important part of her life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rhodes Nix; her brother, James Little; her sister, Dorothy Little Rusk; and her parents, Henry and Ruby Little.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca Holcombe Kent; Jerry T. Holcombe (Nila); and Wanda Holcombe. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Terry Anne Burge (Micheal). She leaves behind nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, Lucy and Oliver. She is further survived by her sister, Shirley Little Bobo, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday as well, from 11am-2pm with the funeral service starting at 2pm. Interment is to follow the service at Cherokee Memorial Park.
