Barbara Moore Norris

Funeral Services Barbara Moore Norris, 72, of Livingston will be held at Christian Valley Baptist Church on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Myrtlewood Cemetery in Livingston. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service.

Barbara Norris passed away on September 8, 2025, at Hill Hospital in York. Born on February 12, 1953, in York to Clifford Evans Moore and Marjorie Grubbs Moore, she earned her nursing degree from Livingston University. Barbara devoted many years to her career as a hospital nurse before transitioning to be the nurse at Gulf States Papermill, where she ultimately retired. Her passions revolved around nature, particularly in the realms of flowering and gardening. One of her most treasured hobbies was rock and fossil hunting in the nearby woods, creek beds, and riverbeds, which often drew family members to her home for these delightful adventures. Barbara also enjoyed taking cruises, especially alongside her sister. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her son, Chris Norris and wife Deanna of Livingston; daughter, Tina Fleming and husband Ralph of Livingston; sister, Suzanne Hanley of Livingston; five grandchildren, Morgan Colgrove and husband Weston of Livingston, Cassidy Norris of Livingston, Shelby Crosby and husband Cory of Linden, Jessica Ethredge of Eutaw, and Daniel Fleming of Livingston; twelve great-grandchildren; aunt, Ann Grubbs Payne of Tuscaloosa; niece and nephews, Staci Hanley Hill and husband Mark of Livingston, Doug Hanley and wife Coley of Tuscaloosa, Clay Hanley and wife Dani of Livingston, Allen Smith and wife Jaysa of Livingston; eleven great nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Evans Moore and Marjorie Grubbs Moore; and brother-in-law, Daniel "Danny" Patrick Hanley.

Pallbearers include Allen Smith, Doug Hanley, Clay Hanley, Mark Hill, Jackson Smith, and Henry Marchand.

Honorary Pallbearers include Louis Janes and Bobby Carney.
