Graveside Services for Frank Portis Poole, 77, of Meridian, formally of Emelle will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11:00 A.M at Central Cemetery with Rev. Tom Kaye officiating.

Frank Poole passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his cherished family. He was born on August 4, 1948, in York, to Charles Portis Poole and Margaret Elliott Poole, and was one of three sons. A proud graduate of the University of Alabama, he then went on to earn his Master's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He dedicated his career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at East Mississippi State Hospital for over 25 years followed by Oschner Rush Health's Stennis Hospital in DeKalb, Mississippi, where he worked until his retirement in May of 2024. Frank was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and enjoyed the great outdoors as an enthusiastic hunter and outdoorsman. He was also a passionate reader and a devoted fan of Alabama Football. Above all, he cherished his family, especially his grandsons. As a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be profoundly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Leigh Ann Fisher Poole of Meridian; son, Daniel Poole of Emelle; daughter, Kristen Poole Sumrall and husband Jake of Newton, Mississippi; three grandsons, Wesley Sumrall, Walker Sumrall, and Brooks Sumrall all of Newton, Mississippi; brothers, Elliott Poole and wife Tanya and Knox Poole and wife Jannice both of Emelle; and numerous other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Portis Poole and mother, Margaret Elliott Poole.

Pallbearers include Eddie Welch, Burgess Murphy, Steve Welch, Andrew Poole, Rodney Granec, and Casey Vaughan.

Honorary Pallbearers include Herman Stegall and Nate Cooper.

The family kindly request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Central Cemetery Fund at Central Cemetery, C/O Knox Poole, 29655 AL-Hwy 17, Emelle, Alabama 35459.
