Barbara O'Konski Obituary
VALLEY FALLS - Barbara L. O'Konski of Master Street, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 19, 2022, after a long illness. She was 68.
Barbara was born in Waterford on December 29, 1953. She was the devoted wife of 49 years of Arthur W. O'Konski Jr. She married the love of her life two weeks after graduating from Waterford-Halfmoon High School in 1973, and they wasted no time starting their family. She spent her whole life being the most loving and caring mother of her eight children. She enjoyed and loved her grandchildren and her dog, Angel, most of all in life. Barbara was a mom and grandma to many more than just her own. She enjoyed country concerts and shopping with her girls, and fishing with her boys.
Survivors include her children, Arthur (Mandie) O'Konski, Thomas (Sarah) O'Konski, Jennifer (David) Marpe, Lisa (Brian) O'Konski, Christina (Patrick) O'Konski, Christopher O'Konski, and Jason (Nicole) O'Konski; as well as her grandchildren, Nicholas, Hannah, Ethan, Edward, Jacob, Addelyn, Hunter, Sebastian, and Aiden. She was predeceased by her son, Kevin O'Konski.
Calling hours will be on Monday, November 28, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main St., Schaghticoke. A service will be conducted at 12 p.m. with burial to follow in the family plot in St. John's Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY, 12144, or the American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX, 75284 in memory of Barb O'Konski.
