Barbara A. Oakerson

Barbara (Bobbi) A. Oakerson, of Browns Mills, passed away on October 10, 2025 at the
age of 77.
Barbara was born in Trenton on August 11, 1948. While raising her children, she resided in
Juliustown, before moving to Browns Mills. After raising her children, Barbara was
employed at the Browns Mills Post Office, then Buttonwood Hospital until her retirement.
Her greatest joys came from spending time or talking with her children, grandchildren,
great grandchildren and special friends. She always enjoyed celebrating others and never
missed an opportunity to send a card, give you a call or bake you something homemade.
Barbara also loved spending the day at the beach under the sun.
Barbara is predeceased by her husband, Oscar Charles Oakerson, her brothers, James,
Wayne and Stephen Leming, and her sister, Alice Gonzalez.
Barbara is survived by her beloved children, Karen (Wade) Hammitt, Keith (Patti) Oakerson,
Sheri Winkler, and Jenny (Matthew) Ready, her grandchildren, Charles, Curtis, Kari, Kylee,
and Wade, her great grandchildren, Autumn, Georgia, and Lainey, her good friend Paul
Gilbert, and several nieces and nephews as well as her furry companion "Smokey".
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Barbara's family on Friday, October 24, 2025,
from 5pm-7pm at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ 08060. A memorial
service will be held at 7 pm at Perinchief Chapels following the visitation. Interment will be
held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
