Mary Burg Obituary
Daughter of the late Elijah and Flossie Cooper, Mary was born August 30, 1941 in Greenup, Kentucky. Her family moved around a lot before finally settling in New Jersey in her teenage years. Mary, a longtime resident of Springfield Township, was a homemaker, staying at home to raise her and husband George's five children.
Mary loved going to Atlantic City to play slot machines, as well as having yard sales and frequenting Columbus Farmers Market. She enjoyed summers crabbing in Waretown with her husband and family. She loved cats, especially her cat Mikey. Later in life Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Mary will be deeply missed.
Mary is predeceased by her husband George Burg, Sr., and her son Jake Burg. Mary is survived by her children Donna Maxwell (John), Maryann Burg, Paul Burg, George Burg, Jr., 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 10am-11am at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ 08060. Funeral services for Mary will follow the viewing at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the services at Holy Assumption Cemetery, 450 Parish Lane, Roebling, NJ 08554.
