Barbara J. Osborne, 94, of Vandalia, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Altamont Lutheran Care Center.
Per the family's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Barbara Jean McCollum was born on February 16, 1930 in Cairo, IL, the daughter of Guy and Edna (Keating) McCollum. She married Harold D. Osborne on October 11, 1952. Together they had three children and celebrated 42 years of marriage before his passing on April 19, 1994.
Barb had various jobs throughout her life; she was a telephone operator and had many different retail jobs over the years. However, she was mainly a homemaker; raising her three children along with her husband. Barb loved reading, playing cards, gardening, and her canine companions. She cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Osborne is survived by her son, Paul Osborne and wife Michelle of Litchfield; daughter, Jamie and husband Neil Henna of Farina; daughter, Lisa and husband Brian Cripe of Vandalia; grandsons, Steven Osborne and wife Lacey, Caleb Osborne and wife Rachel, Luke Osborne and wife Mia, Tim Osborne and wife Brittain, Jake Cripe, Ben Cripe and wife Katy; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
