Barbara "Barb" J. Ott died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Grantsburg on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the age of 73.
Barbara Lind was born on April 7, 1951 in Siren, Wisconsin as the third of four children to parents John and Evelyn Lind. She graduated Siren High School class of 1969 and moved to the Twin Cities to work for Honeywell Industries. She moved back to the area, and in 1971 met James Ott whom she married in 1973. In 1981 she gave birth to their son Alan. She worked many years at Parker Hannifin before retiring in 2015.
In addition to being devoted to her family and groups of close friends she enjoyed many hobbies. Barbara was an avid gardener enjoying planting and growing everything from house plants, flowers, vegetable gardens, and maple trees. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays, board games and socializing and keeping up on the news.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; John and Evelyn Lind, brother; Ernest Lind and James Lind, nephews; Joseph Lind and John Lind, Jr.
She is survived by her husband James Ott, and son Alan Ott, sister JoAnn (John) Nelson, sister in laws; Janice Lind and Jane Ott, nephews; Scott (Jeanne) Nelson and Toby (Kristen) Lind, nieces; Dana (Mike) Grubb, Johanna (Rob) Rose, Jackie (Jeff) Hulleman, Jamie (George) Rullman, Melissa Lind, Lynette (Stephen) Davidson; along with many close friends made throughout the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
