Ethel Ott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Linnemann Funeral Home - Erlanger on Jan. 30, 2026.
Ethel Grace Ott, a medical secretary, died on Thursday, January 29, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas after receiving the last rites of the Catholic Church. She suffered a heart attack on January 16 at her home in Erlanger, four days after her ninety-fifth birthday.

Ethel worked as a secretary for the radiologic team of Walsh, Adair and Garrett in Covington and several other physicians before ending her career at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She impressed many friends and family with her prodigious memory of medical definitions and details of local personalities and family.

Ms. Ott was born on January 12, 1931, to Arthur D. and Grace Bennett Ott of Newport, Kentucky. She attended Immaculate Conception parish school and was graduated from LaSalette Academy in Covington. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Mary Louise Parker of Delhi, a half-sister, Elizabeth Landwehr of Cincinnati, and a half-brother, Arthur William Ott of Fort Thomas.

Survivors are her brother, James (Charlotte), and five nephews, Alec (Marygrace), Steve (Emilee), Tony (Christie), James (Michelle) and Michael Ott, fourteen great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Ethel was a faithful Catholic and a member of Mary Queen of Heaven parish in Erlanger. For many years she arrived before Mass and greeted parishioners at the church door.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, at Mary Queen of Heaven parish in Erlanger. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Ethel's favorite charity, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, 40 West Dr., Nazareth, KY 40048.
