Barbara Petty Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home on Mar. 11, 2026.
It is with deep sorrow and profound reverence that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Petty, beloved wife, mother, and cherished friend. Born on October 21, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, Barbara's journey in this world came to a gentle close on March 8, 2026, as she departed peacefully from a long battle with dementia and Parkinson's disease.

Barbara was a fourth generation native Texan born to Ruth and Roscoe Canion. She was an outstanding student and graduated from Alamo Heights High School before attending Southwest Texas. She graduated in three years with her degree in education. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Tuck Petty, right after graduating, and spent the next 60 years by his side.

Barbara had a happy and loving full life. She loved music and fashion. She enjoyed going to the movies, and was an avid sports fan. She especially loved the Spurs, sometimes the Cowboys, and watching her grandchildren play soccer. Barbara also loved dogs, especially Airedale Terriers. She had Airedales throughout her adult life. In addition, Barbara loved to travel. She traveled throughout the US, and also took many trips around the world with her beloved friend group.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Larry Petty, Daughter, Wendy (Erich) Rahn, and grandsons Tyler and Gunnar Rahn.

To honor her life and legacy, a visitation will take place at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home on March 16, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. This will be followed by a graveside service held at Boerne Cemetery allowing all in attendance to pay their final respects and reflect on the cherished memories shared with Barbara.

As we gather to celebrate her remarkable life, we invite all who were touched by Barbara's kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit to join us in remembering the beautiful moments she brought into our lives.

If you would like to make a donation to one of the below organizations, rather than sending flowers, it would be greatly appreciated.

Barbara Ann Petty will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts. Her love of life, contagious laughter, and giving heart, will continue to inspire all who knew her.
