Barbara Phillips Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tullahoma Funeral Home on Dec. 16, 2025.
Barbara Ann Phillips, age 81, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. She was born on August 20, 1944, in Manchester, Tennessee, to the late Aaron and Lurene Felts. Barbara dedicated over 30 years of service to the Tullahoma School System as the cafeteria manager at multiple schools before retiring. She greeted every student with a warm, welcoming smile and always went above and beyond to ensure each child was cared for. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Phillips, and her daughter, Donna Phillips Hinkle, and her brothers, Edward Felts and Bobby Felts. Barbara is survived by her two sons, Danny Phillips and Gary (Skye) Phillips; her grandchildren, Holly (Steve) Hinkle, John Curtis Hinkle, and Grace Ann Phillips; and her great-grandchildren, Laken, Amiyah, Zaree, Kensley, and Maceo. Barbara will be fondly remembered for the love she showed to everyone she met. She had a deeply caring spirit and would take care of anyone in a heartbeat. Known as "Granny" to many, she brought comfort, laughter, and joy wherever she went. She loved to dance and spent many weekends volunteering at the VFW. Barbara also enjoyed taking walks and talking on the phone with friends and family. She loved the colors red and yellow and anything bright, and summertime was her favorite season. Her home was always open, she cherished time with loved ones, loved to cook, and never hesitated to offer a meal to anyone who stopped by. She made sure everyone knew they could always come back home, no matter what. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery.

This is Jane Hilliard who taught at Farrar Elementary when Barbara worked in the cafeteria. She was a sweet person to the children and the faculty. I was saddened to see that she had passed away. I´m praying that God will comfort the family.
