Barbara J. Poeschl, our beloved Mother, was called home on Sunday, February 15, 2026, surrounded by her family. Barb grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and graduated from Aquinas High School. She then moved to Milwaukee to live with her aunt, where she worked as a waitress. It was there she met her future husband, Robert Poeschl, who operated the restaurant with his father. They raised 6 children in the Washington Heights area and attended St. Sebastian's Catholic Church. When they could, Bob and Barb traveled. One of her favorite places was Las Vegas; they also visited San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Reno, and Florida. She also encouraged a family road trip to Graceland the year after Elvis died in 1978.
Mom loved Elvis and had seen him perform twice, once in high school and another time in Milwaukee, with her dear friend Merle. Other artists, such as Cat Stevens, Rod Stewart, and the Bee Gees, were among her favorites.
Later in life, Barb obtained her daycare certificate and ran an in-home daycare for many years, until retirement. It started out with neighborhood kids and grandkids but grew from there. For years after some of the children she helped raise brought their own children to visit.
While Barb loved to play bingo and slot machines at Potawatomi, she also loved playing cards and dice with family and friends. Barb resided at Heritage Senior Living for the last three years, where she made new friends and exercised every day. She also liked quiet time in her room, reading, or watching movies.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Robert M. Poeschl; son Michael Poeschl; parents John and Verna Faas; brothers Don Faas and Jim Faas; sister Sharon Hoffman; and longtime friend of Merle Langoehr,
