Barbara Jane Prideaux (nee Baumgardner), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Francis William Prideaux; cherished daughter of the late Ralph and Dolores Baumgardner; devoted mother of John (Ina) Prideaux, Denise (Hans) van Oosterwijk, and Julie (John) Anderson; loving grandmother of Sean (Mary) and Jessica Prideaux, Danata (Alexei) and Sophia, Brianna (Jess Garcia) and Connor Bartlik, Jake (Paige) and Zach Anderson; treasured great grandmother of Briar Anderson; dear sister of the late Betty Orescan and the late Lorie (the late Rob) Robinson. Frank and Barbara were guardians to Frank’s siblings, Renee (John) Duncan and William (Kim) Prideaux.
Barb was born and raised in San Francisco where she met and married her husband, Frank. Barb was an elementary school teacher for nearly 40 years for the St. Charles City School District. She enjoyed volunteering for the Little Sisters of the Poor from the age of 14, and she would take care of the elderly during her volunteer work. Barb was a parishioner at St. Cletus Catholic Church for 58 years and was honored to be a Eucharistic Minister, given the opportunity to pass communion at Fairwinds Retirement Community. She was also a member of the Peace and Justice committee that works towards welcoming everyone, as well as a member of Interfaith Partnership. Barb felt that she would have a happy death and knew she was going home to God. She spent every day trying to make the world a better place, a bridge builder that created relationships with everyone. Barb was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Barbara's name to may be made in Barbara's name to Little Sisters of the Poor.
