Barbara Helen Rampy, 85, of Osage Beach, MO, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Stonebridge Nursing Home under the care of Lake Regional Hospice.
She was born on January 6, 1940, to Leo and Georgia Hunolt, of Baring, MO. Barbara attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Edina and graduated from Baring High School in 1958. She was united in marriage to Bob Rampy of Edina, MO, and his job with P.N. Hirsch & Company eventually took them to Brookfield, MO, where they settled and raised their children.
Barbara was active in her community where she attended Immaculate Conception Church and served on the Alter Society, was a Beta Sigma Phi Sorority member, Lady Elks Auxiliary member, and a Linn County Commissioner. She had a licensed daycare in her home and cared for many children in Brookfield. She was a catcher for a ladies’ softball team, playing well into her 50’s.
She is survived by her children: Becky (Garry) Hicks, of Linn Creek, MO, Brett (Sharon) Rampy, of Columbia, MO, Bill (Pam) Rampy, of Brookfield, MO; grandchildren: Kara (Benjamin) Hook, of Columbia, MO, Ryan (Kyndall) Hicks, of Waynesville, MO, Bryan Rampy, of Santa Rosa, CA, Brandon Rampy, of Henerson, NV, Samantha (Daniel) Grob, of Savannah, MO, Jessica (Bradley) Johanningsmeier, of Macon, MO; great grandchildren: Sebastian Hook, Greyson Hook, Lillian Hook, Arianna Newkirk, Claire Hicks, Kynlee Hicks, Landon Grob, Madison Grob and Leanna Johanningsmeier; one sister, Lois (Kenny) Hunziker, of Knox City, MO; two brothers: Bobby Hunolt, of Edina, MO, and Terry (Teresa) Hunolt, of Baring, MO; sister-in-law, Lois Hunolt, of Baring, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Georgia Hunolt; husband, Bob Rampy; and brothers, George Hunolt, Leo Hunolt and Dick Hunolt.
The family suggests memorials be made in Barbara’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
A service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, MO, on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. ~ 11:00 a.m. with Inurnment at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO, at 12:00 noon.
