Barbara Reedy Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 27, 2024.
Barbara Ann Reedy, 64, of Exeter Township, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Born on April 25, 1959 in Bethlehem, PA she was a daughter to the late Frederick Keene Sr. and Shirley (Smith) Keene.
Barbara earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Albright College and worked as an assistant preschool teacher with His Kids Preschool. However, above all else, she dedicated her life to creating a nurturing and loving home for her family. As a stay-at-home mom, she selflessly devoted herself to the well-being and happiness of her husband and daughters.
Barbara was a woman of many talents. She was particularly known for her creativity, spending countless hours crafting beautiful quilts, stuffed animals and travel bags that reflected her love for sewing. Her intricate designs and attention to detail showcased the artistic flair that defined her character.
Barbara found solace in the pages of mysteries and historical fiction novels but, few things brought her as much joy as her love for Disney World. The magic of the enchanted kingdom resonated deeply with her, and she reveled in creating lasting memories with her family amidst the enchanting surroundings.
Equally passionate about the great outdoors, she enjoyed kayaking and hiking alongside her husband and beloved dog, Lacy. The trio explored nature's wonders, creating a bond that transcended the ordinary and embraced the beauty of simplicity. Her love extended beyond human connections, as she had a special place in her heart for her pets. Sam, Brandy, Frank and Lacy (just to name a few) were not just animals; they were cherished members of the family, providing her with unwavering companionship and unconditional love.
May Barbara's spirit forever be intertwined with the beauty of nature she so dearly loved, and may her memory continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Barbara's spirit will be carried on by her husband of 40 years, Michael D. Reedy; her 2 daughters Elizabeth M. Reedy and Darby N. Gibson and her husband Steven. Barbara also leaves behind her brother Frederick Keene Jr. and his wife Elaine; her sister Nancy Schweigert, wife of the late John Schweigert and her 2 beloved fur babies Lacy and Loki.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606, followed by a memorial service at 6:30 PM, Pastor Susan Weisman officiating.
Per the request of the family, attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing & face masks are required in the funeral home (face masks will be provided).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508.

My dearest sister....forever remember spending hours at Mike´s baseball games with you, watching Bugs Bunny And laughing the whole time, driving to get puppies, and so much more - my heart broke as you suffered, but God has you now and He will love and keep you. The memory of the wonderful sister, Mom, and wife you were will live on forever
