Barbara Joan Richardson, age 90, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 9th, 2025. A devoted “Mama Bear,” and avid caregiver, she will be dearly missed.
Barbara was born on October 5th, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents Ralph Brewer and Mother Evelyn Longest Jacobs. She attended Holy Cross High School, later graduating in 1951. Barbara became a dedicated homemaker and part-time worker at Things Remembered. While tending to her children and home, Barbara later became a mother to two additional children.
Barbara was a straightforward person with a love for everyone. She devoted herself to her friends and family, providing a warm and loving home to those who needed it. Barbara was a caring mother and wife who woke up every morning to cook up a delicious breakfast for her entire family. She loved to eat just as much as she loved to cook.
She was a passionate individual with a knack for canning, cooking, camping, dancing, and gardening. Barbara loved to travel on a Goldwing motorcycle alongside her devoted husband Carl. Barbara leaves behind a legacy filled with love and compassion as she dances her way to heaven.
She is preceeded in death by her parents and three siblings, Gene Jacobs, Jim Jacobs, Ted Brewer, as well as grandchild Christopher Bagley.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Richardson, their children, Bruce Richardson (Dee), Debbie Dodd (Bryan), Steve Richardson (Barb), as well as her siblings, Karen Wissinger, Sheila Blount, Frank Jacobs, and Jeff Jacobs. Barbara was grandmother to several surviving grandchildren, Zach Richardson, Danielle Storm, Paige Ross, Kira Murdick, Justin Dodd, Jacob Dodd, and Tyler Richardson. In addition to her grandchildren, Barbara was great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at Grace Assembly of God (6822 N. U.S. 31, New Whiteland, 46184) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on February 15th, 2025. Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a lunch to follow.
