Barbara Ann Roepe (Jones) passed away June 6, 2025, at the age of 82 in Camdenton, Missouri. She was born November 6, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Elvin H. Jones and Dorothy Jones (Endicott), both deceased. Her husband, Donald (Don) Dean Roepe preceded her in death on April 18, 2021, after nearly 61 years of marriage. She is survived by their son, Michael, his wife Margaret, granddaughter Marianne, Sister Hazel Spano, and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Barbara graduated from Wellington-Napoleon (Missouri) high school in 1960. She married Don on July 1, 1960. Michael was born November 7, 1966. Barbara and Don moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area in 1978. She was a stay-at-home Mom until Michael graduated from high school in 1985. A few years later Barbara went back to school and graduated from State Fair Community College as an LPN in 1992 at the age of 50. She truly enjoyed working with the elderly and chose to work at nursing and assisted living homes. After the death of her husband, she volunteered at Lake Parke Senior Living in Camdenton until her health prohibited it.
Barbara loved to walk and hike in her younger years. She ascended several 14ers in Colorado. She walked the Katy trail in its entirety (240 miles) shortly after it was completed and had the T-shirt to prove it. She also enjoyed fishing for crappies on Truman Lake with her late husband until he passed.
She was a very special person and will be missed by many.
Barbara's ashes will be entombed with Donald's ashes at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Lees Summit, MO at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes, 1270 S Business Route 5, Camdenton, MO 65020 (573) 346-2090. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.hedgesscottmillard.com.
