Barbara Roesslein Obituary

Barbara Anne Roesslein
Born: May 22, 1938
Died: March 4, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Anne Roesslein, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Barbara passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born May 22, 1938, in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Doris Zerby. She grew up in DeKalb and graduated from high school there. She married the love of her life, Gordon Louis Roesslein on September 17, 1960, in DeKalb. At the time of his death, less than one year ago on April 16, 2023, they had been married 62 years, a testament to their deep love and devotion to each other.
Barbara worked many years as a bank teller and in customer service at the State Bank of Woodstock. However, she spent most of her life caring for her family as a homemaker. She loved to bake, making numerous different cookies and candies, especially at Christmas time. She also enjoyed reading and shopping.
Mostly, she loved spending time with her family, and she is survived by two sons, Steven (Colleen) and Jeffrey (Tina). She was also a proud and loving grandmother to her two grandsons, Alexander and Colton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and loving husband, Gordon.
Barbara's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed. A family graveside service will be held at a later date in Woodstock, IL.
