Barbara Rosenberg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rone Funeral Service - Vineland on Mar. 24, 2025.
Barbara Spitzer Rosenberg of Vineland passed away on March 23, 2025. She was born in 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri to Louis and Eva Spitzer and older sister Joyce. She came to New Jersey to attend Centenary Junior College and settled in Vineland, with her husband, Dr. David Rosenberg. She and David raised four children, Daniel, Michael, Diane, and Linda.
Barbara was devoted to her friends and family. She enjoyed travelling the world with her husband and spending time together at home and at favorite destinations, like Maine and the Jersey shore. She loved celebrating her children's and grandchildren's adventures and accomplishments, and delighted in holding her great grandchildren.
Barbara was dedicated to several community organizations, volunteering at the Beth Israel Synagogue Sisterhood, Hebrew Women's Benevolent Society, Hadassah, and Art Goes to School, among others. She was a Beth Israel Synagogue nursery schoolteacher before receiving her bachelor's degree from Glassboro State College at 60, and was proud to volunteer for 25 years as a docent at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where she continued to learn and share her love of art. She was also an avid and eclectic reader.
She was predeceased by her son Daniel, parents, and sister. She is survived by David, her husband of almost 70 years and her children Michael (Doreen), Diane Strauss (Andy), Linda (Barry), and Julie Kerich; her grandchildren Zachary (Karen), Rebekah (Ben), Eva, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Jordana, Hannah, Abigail, and Eli; and four great grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25 at Beth Israel Congregation, 1015 East Park Avenue, Vineland, with burial following at Alliance Cemetery in Norma, NJ.
The family will be sitting shiva at 30 Evelyn Ave., Vineland on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, with services at 7:00pm.
