Barbara J. (Nowell) Samuelson
Barbara J. Samuelson, 65, a resident of Franklin for most of her life, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 19, at Concord Hospital, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Boston, MA on July 11, 1958 the daughter of the late Frederick Charles Nowell Sr. and Barbara May (Richards) Nowell.
Barb, as many of her friends knew her as, could always be seen with a smile on her face, working at the Lowe's in Tilton since it opened. She worked there on the MST (merchandise service team), updating the store shelves and displays for the 18 years they have been open.
She enjoyed crocheting and going shopping but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her only granddaughter Hope.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her son; Shawn Samuelson in 1997 and a sister; Sandra J. Matava who just died in October of this year.
Her family includes her husband of 46 years; Samuel F. Samuelson of Franklin, her daughter; Akiesha and her husband Jason Young of Hill and their daughter Hope. She is also survived by her three sisters; Anita M. Hernandez of Northfield, Earlene and her husband Frank Perreault of Madison and Cheryl Mangrum of Reno, NV, her three brothers; Kenneth J. Major of Hampton, VA, Earl F. and his wife Cheryl Nowell of Myrtle Beach, SC and Frederick C. Jr. and his wife Pamela Nowell of Dallastown, PA and also her many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smart Memorial Home, 584 West Main St. in Tilton. Burial will be in the spring in Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin.
To remember BJ in a special way, please make memorial donations in her memory to the Twin Rivers Food Pantry, 2 Central St., Unit C, Franklin, NH 03235-1176.
