Barbara Sanders Obituary

Barbara was loved by many and they knew her as a kind, loving, and strong woman of faith. She loved her grandchildren and took great joy in supporting them at all their activities alongside Joey. Family meant everything to her, and she deeply cherished every moment spent together. Barbara attended Branches of Christ and desired to be remembered most for her love of Jesus.
She is survived by her children, Sarita (Jerry) Westerfield, Darryl (Loni) Sanders, and Joey (Phoebe) Sanders III; nine grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Helsel, Michael (Jackie) Westerfield, Derek (Desia) Westerfield, Danielle (Kyler) Blake, Josh (Jessica) Sanders, Britnee Sanders, Des (Dan) Swenson and Dustin Sanders; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joey; her grandson, Jacob Sanders; and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jerry Westerfield officiating. Burial will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens.

I am so sorry to miss Aunt Barbara´s services as I am out of town for work. I am so glad to have gotten to spend time with her back in May. She´s such a very special and dear person always full of love and the Holy Spirit.
I will miss her, but know that I will get to see her again one day. I am blessed to have known her beautiful soul.

If there's a Heaven....and there is - rest assured my sweet aunt Barbara is there. Although she was tall & mighty in her faith, most meek and humble was her demeanor (she entered any room 2 seconds before she actually got there - so strong was the presence of our Lord in her). She is now with my gentle and soft spoken, Uncle Joey....whom, as his loving wife - she was eternally devoted. I know that she is now also with my Dad and her other siblings - who all loved her so. Condolences to our grieving families, consoled by the knowledge that Barbara is now in the beauty and warmth of heaven. Rest in peace dear Aunt Barbara, thank you for being so kind to all of us (as children and adults). I love you sweety.
