Barbara "Barb" Jean Scharpf (nee Hiller), age 79 of Hartford and formally of Huilsburg, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3, 2023, with her loving family at her side.
Barb was born on June 20, 1944, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to her parents Glen and Genevieve (Daniel) Hiller. She was united in marriage to James Scharpf on May 7, 1966, at St. Killian's Catholic Church in Hartford, Wisconsin.
She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. Barb also loved to travel around the country with her husband on their motorcycle and enjoyed camping with her family. She found joy watching her grandchildren play soccer and performing at band concerts and programs when they were in school. Barb also enjoyed sewing, stamping and making cards and crafts. She worked for International Stamping in Hartford before she started working for the City of Hartford at the Recreation Center as the head of the Ceramics department. Where she stayed until she retired.
Barb is survived by her two loving children Chad Scharpf and Eric (Krista) Scharpf; three cherished grandchildren Kaleb, Logan, and Arizona; and her dear sister Mary Hiller. Barb is further survived by many other loved relatives and friends.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Scharpf; parents Glen and Genevieve (Daniel) Hiller; brothers, Glen Jr. (Jane), Daniel (Barbara), and Richard; sisters, Charolette (Gordan), Geraldine (Jerome), and Donna Mae; aunts, uncles and nephew.
A memorial service for Barb will be held on Saturday, December 16th, 2023, at St. Killian's Catholic Church at 1:00 PM with Father Richard Stoffel officiating. Barb's family will greet friends and relatives at the church from 11:00 AM until the start of Mass. Inurnment is to follow Mass at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Our family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at the Aurora Medical Center Washington County and The Kathy Hospice for all the wonderful care and compassion that you showed Barb in the final days of her life.
