Barbara J. "Niescier" Schmieg

Barbara Jane (Neiscier) Schmieg, a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home in Willow Grove on July 8, 2025, her 73rd birthday.

Barbara was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Anthony Neiscier and Jane (Duda) Neiscier. She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years Michael J Schmieg, of Willow Grove, her two daughters: Jane (Schmieg) Garis and Matthew of Saint Petersburg, Florida, and Marie (Schmieg ) Lavin and Michael, of Philadelphia. Nothing brought Barbara more joy than her role as grand-mom to her cherished grandchildren : Emily Jane and Landon Lavin. Also grieving the loss of their dear sister is: Anthony Neiscier and Patricia of Gwynedd, John Neiscier and Carol of San Antonio, Texas, Ann (Neiscier) Glass and Blaine of Bensalem, Richard Neiscier (Lisa) of Bethlehem. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

Barbara received her associates degree from Penn State University. She went on to work as a buyer for John Wanamaker's in Valley Forge. Barbara was a longtime parishioner of Saint David's Roman Catholic Church in Willow Grove, where her daughters attended school and where she was a volunteer CCD instructor.. Her family was her greatest pride and her love for them was boundless.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Monday July 14, 2025 from 9:30am to 10:15am at St. David RC Church, 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove PA 19090.

A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30am.

Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham PA.
